Graphene is a game changing material for footwear. Whereas previously athletes had to choose either a grippy shoe that wore down quickly, or a harder rubber sole that lasted longer but that wasn’t as grippy. Graphene however allows for both from a sole. Great grip and a long lasting. The launch event was held at the National Graphene Centre and housed a number of the world’s sports press to hear from scientists, athletes that had been involved in the product testing and tours of the science labs where the graphene was first isolated. Media packs were created to further explain the Graphene use in the sole and its benefits, including a bespoke map of the Lake District - home of inov-8 and where Graphite (from which Graphene is produced from) was first discovered 450 years ago.
